Orientation and Mobility Training

Vision Rehabilitation Services og Georgia Low vision orientation and mobility seeing eye dog

Changes in vision often means having to rethink the way one travels within the home and their community. An Orientation and Mobility (O&M) instructor guides the clients in evaluating their travel needs, challenges, and exploring appropriate tools and strategies to meet these needs.

A training program is designed which will allow the client to travel safely and independently in all of their life environments. As part of their program clients will learn to access a variety of transportation alternatives to driving. Instructors also complete home assessments for safety and provide guidance in fall prevention strategies and activities.
